What can we visit?

The Cottage of Can Còdol is characterized by its quiet setting surrounded by nature, ideal for a getaway with family or friends. However, there are many interesting places to visit throughout the area, and that will certainly not leave you indifferent.

The municipality Maians is characterized by a rich culture (architecture, landscape, holidays, food, etc.) that comes from the time of the Iberians and Romans, and you will find many points of interest nearby the Cottage of Can Còdol. For example, the Romanesque chapel of “Sant Pere” that has magnificent views of the mountains of “Montserrat” or “Cogulló de Can Torre”. At this point you can enjoy an spectacular view, and not only because the landscape but also due to be considered the most central point of Catalonia. From here you can visit the hermitage of San Miquel, a pre-Romanesque construction of the ninth century, and the church of “Sant Marc”.

Very close to Maians there are many places where you can go hiking, suitable for all ages, and a 30 minute drive at most. In the Cottage of Can Còdol is located in central Catalonia, and there are many places to explore over!

In Manresa there’s “La Seu”, the Town Hall Square, the Old Town, Route Medieval, Baroque and Modern through the streets of the city, including museums and the “Parc de l’Agulla”, a beautiful park on the outskirts.

In Igualada you can visit the “Museu del traginer”, a museum about the evolution of muleteers. The “Museu de la Pell”, a museum that shows the classic treatment of wool and leather, or the European Balloon Festival, which is held every first fortnight of July.

In Cardona you can take guided tours for its unique salt mines, or his ninth century castle.

A visit highly recommended to all those who have not ever been in central Catalonia, are the Monastery and Montserrat Mountains or the Monastery of Sant Benet and its wonderful surroundings.

In Balsareny you can explore the castle, in Collbató the Saltpeter Caves, In La Pobla de Claramunt the Castle of la Pobla, and in Tossa de Montbui his Romanesque church.
